Sidney Crosby was drafted first overall in 2005 as one of the most highly regarded picks in NHL history. By his second season, he led the NHL with 120 points (36 goals, 84 assists) to capture the Art Ross Trophy, becoming the youngest player and the only teenager to win a scoring title in any major North American sports league. That same season, Crosby won the Hart Memorial Trophy as the Professional Hockey Writers Association's choice for most valuable player and the Lester B. Pearson Award as the NHL Players Association's choice for most outstanding player, becoming the seventh player in NHL history to earn all three awards in one year. This sweater was worn in five games during the 2011-12 season. Inside the rear collar is the size “56” flag tag. On the inner rear tail is the “Pittsburgh Penguins 2011-12 Game Jersey Set 2 PP#122502” label with head equipment manager Dana Heinze’s facsimile signature. At the left chest is the Captain’s “C”. Player number “87” appears on back and on both sleeves. All these numbers and letters are done in white on black on gold triple tackle twill. Player name “CROSBY” appears across the back in white tackle twill with a black-stitched outline on golden tackle twill on a black nameplate. Above is the “Reebok” patch. On front is a large tackle twill team disc patch. At the v-neck is the official “NHL” logo shield embroidered. The fight strap is intact. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows appropriate use. Accompanied by a LOA from the Pittsburgh Penguins.
