This item had the honor of being displayed in the New York Football Giants Legacy Club. Ken Strong played 14 seasons in the NFL and was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1967. His performance in the 1934 NFL Championship Game, now known as “The Sneakers Game”, was crucial to the Giants’ victory over the Chicago Bears. Down 10-3 in the second half, Strong contributed 17 points on two touchdowns, two extra points and a field goal on the way to a 30-13 win. This silver trophy measures approximately 10-¾” 10-¼” x 6-1/2” and weighs roughly 3.5 lbs. It was presented to Ken Strong after he and the Giants won the 1934 NFL Championship Game. The trophy features a stylized football atop a decorative base. One panel of the football has been hand-engraved to read “To Ken Strong - From The World Champion New York Giants” along with the date “Dec. 16, 1934”, one week after the Giants victory over the Bears. The underside of the trophy features a small metal badge that reads “WALLACE BROS. CO - WALLINGFORD, CONN” along with the serial number “V2815”. The trophy is in NRMT condition.
