This item had the honor of being displayed in the New York Football Giants Legacy Club. Roosevelt Brown is part of the Pro Football Hall of Fame class of 1975. 21” x 19” wooden award with a bronze scroll on it that reads, “SPORTSMAN AWARD - PRESENTED BY - SECTION 5 CLUB - OF THE - YANKEE STADIUM, INC. - TO - ROOSEVELT BROWN - OF THE N.Y. FOOTBALL GIANTS - OCT. 31, 1965 - FOR HIS - “DISTINGUISHED ACHIEVEMENT” - AS A - FOOTBALL GREAT - WHO HAS CONTRIBUTED HIS - OUTSTANDING LEADERSHIP, - ABILITY AND SPORTSMANSHIP - TO THE GREAT GAME OF FOOTBALL - WHICH HAS EXTENDED THE - APPRECIATION OF THE SPORT - THE WORLD OVER”. Adjacent to the right of the scroll there is a small amount of glue residue where laurelled leaves were once present. The award is in VG condition and weighs 18 pounds.
