Twenty-four time All-Star and two-time NL MVP Willie Mays was one of the best defensive outfielders in league history. Mays won 12 consecutive Gold Glove Awards from 1957-68. Kangaroo leather bound outfielder's glove with rawhide laces. On the wrist is a "MacGregor" manufacturer's patch. Adjacent to the left stamped in black reads "ADJUSTA WRIST". The number "24" and an illegible inscription appears on the top of the pinky in fading black marker. On the top of the thumb in lack marker is the number "20" drawn over "24 and "MAYS". As per Dennis Esken of PSA/DNA, regardless of the uniform number on the glove, we can confirm by the player characteristics on this glove that it was used by Willie Mays. On the inside wrist area reads "MacGregor" and adjacent reads "Flex-Pad". This model glove (KC1) features a padded heel which has been removed for increased flexibility. This modification was requested by the player or executed by the team after the glove was received by the player and is a known Mays trait. This glove is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use. Accompanied by an LOA form PSA/DNA, an Esken LOA and a notarized letter of provenance from a MacGregor Sporting Goods employee.
