Johnny Bench was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame on the first ballot in 1989. Bench won back to back World Series Championships in 1975-76 and won the World Series MVP in ‘76. The NL Rookie of the Year in 1968, Bench was one of the best offensive catchers in MLB history, winning two NL MVPs. Inside the left rear tail is a “Wilson” size “44” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Inside the left front tail is a swatch with “78 2” embroidered on it in red stitching. Across the front reads “CINCINNATI”. Player number “5” appears on the front and on the back. Across the back reads player name “BENCH”. All numbering and lettering are done in the same red tackle twill sewn directly onto the grey jersey. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows excellent use.
