Charlie Gehringer was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1949 and is regarded as one of the best second baseman of all time. The six-time All-Star won a World Series Championship in 1935 and had his personal best season in 1937, where he was the AL batting champion and won the AL MVP. Gehringer finished with a .320 batting average and had seven seasons with more than 200 hits, a hit total never reached in a season by Ted Williams or Mickey Mantle. Inside the rear collar is a worn out manufacturer’s tag that is illegible. Below is player name “Gehringer” embroidered in red stitching on rip-cord. Across the front reads “Detroit” in navy blue, script felt lettering sewn directly onto the grey flannel jersey. Jersey is all-original and is in fantastic condition. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows outstanding use.
