Inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1991, Gaylord Perry was the first pitcher to win a Cy Young Award in both the American and National League. He joined the 300 win club in 1982, the year in which this jersey is attributed to. On the front left tail is a “Rawlings” size “46” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Attached is a flag tag that reads “SET 1 1982”. Across the chest reads “Marines”. Player number “36” appears on both the front and on the back. These are done in the same blue on yellow on blue triple tackle twill. Across the back reads player name “PERRY” in blue tackle twill sewn onto a white nameplate. Perry signed on the front of the jersey in blue pen with the added inscription, “Best Wishes #301 5-26-82” and in our opinion, rates an 8. Perry defeated the Detroit Tigers 4-2, after losing three straight after winning his 300th game. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use.
