Luke Appling was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1964. He was selected to seven All-Star games and has his No. 4 retired by the Chicago White Sox. On the front left tail is a “Wilson” size “42” manufacturer’s tag with washing instructions. Below, embroidered in blue stitching is “1970-1”. Inside the rear collar is a strip tag that has “Appling” embroidered on it in blue stitching. On the left chest reads “SOX. Player number “4” appears on the right chest and on the back. Across the back reads player name “APPLING”. These are all done in the same blue tackle twill sewn directly onto the flannel jersey. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate wear.
