Jim Rice was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 2009. The eight-time All-Star selection won two Silver Slugger Awards and was the AL MVP in 1978, after becoming the first major league player in 19 years to hit for 400 total bases. On the front center tail is a “1978” tag. Below is a tag with washing instructions. Inside the rear collar is a “McAULIFFE” manufacturer’s tag. Below is a size “42” tag. Tagged "42" but measures out to a 44, which was the proper size for Rice for this time period. Across the front reads “RED SOX”. On the back is player number “14”. Both of these are done in the same red on navy blue tackle twill sewn directly onto the jersey. This jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows appropriate use.
