The 1976-77 season was “Pistol” Pete’s best-ever as a professional player. He led the league in scoring with an average of 31.1 points per game. He scored 40 points or more in 13 different games, including a 68-point masterpiece against the Knicks. At that time, it was the most points ever scored by a guard in one game. Maravich earned his third All-Star Game appearance and was honored as All-NBA First Team for the second consecutive season. This award was presented to “Pistol” Pete Maravich following the 1976-77 NBA season where he led the league in scoring with 2,273 points. The wooden award measures 18” x 12” and features a brass basketball player, and red, white and blue enameled NBA logo and an 8” x 8” “Barhill” manufactured clock. A plaque on the award reads, “PETE MARAVICH - NEW ORLEANS JAZZ - NBA SCORING CHAMPION 1976-77”. The award is in NRMT condition and is accompanied by a LOA from the Maravich family.
