After leading Michigan State to the NCAA title in 1979 and being named the tournament's MVP, Johnson was the first player selected in the NBA Draft. His impact on the league, and on the Lakers, was immediate. When he retired, he ranked first in career assists in the NBA. Named one of the 50 greatest players in NBA history in 1996, Magic was elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 2002. On the left front tail is the “MacGregor Sand-Knit” manufacturer’s tag with size “42”. Above is the “Designed & Tailored Exclusively for Los Angeles Lakers” tag. Adjacent are two strip tags, “89” and “2”LB”. Across the front is “Lakers”. Player number “32” appears on both the front and back. Player name “JOHNSON” appears across the back. All numbers and letters are done in purple on white tackle twill. Johnson has signed the back number in black marker rating a 6. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows light use. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
