Tony LaRussa played only one game with the Cubs in 1973 wearing number “42”. Matt Alexander also wore the same number that year for the Cubbies. Inside the rear collar is the “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions and jersey size “44” which is partially detached. Below is a strip tag with “55 73 2 44”. On the left front tail is a strip tag with “73”. Across the front is “CHICAGO”. Player number “42” appears on both the front and back. There is a number change, “55” to “42”. Tony LaRussa wore “42”, there was no “55” on the roster. All numbers and letters are done in blue tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the team “Cub Head” embroidered patch. LaRussa has signed the front in black marker rating a 6. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows appropriate use. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA. Other than what is mentioned, there appear to be no further alterations of any kind.
