During his 21-year career with the Pirates, “Pops” batted .282, with 2,232 hits, 475 home runs and 1540 RBI’s, helping his team capture two National League pennants and two World Series (1971, 1979). Stargell was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1988. In 1982, the Pirates wore their yellow jerseys as both a home alternate with matching pants and also a road jersey with black pants. On the left front tail is the “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions and size “46”. Adjacent is a strip tag with “8 82” indicating player number and jersey year, respectively. Across the front is “PITTSBURGH”. Player number “8” appears on both the front and back. All these numbers and letters are done in black on white tackle twill. Player name “STARGELL” appears on back in black tackle twill on a yellow nameplate. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion shows light use.
