Pitching for the Brooklyn/Los Angeles Dodgers, he teamed with Sandy Koufax during the late 1950s and early-middle 1960s to form one of the most dominating pitching duos in history. Nicknamed "Big D", he used brush back pitches and a sidearm fastball to intimidate batters. He was a nine time All-Star, three time World Champion and was elected to the Hall of Fame in 1984. On the left front tail is the “Rawlings Hall of Fame” manufacturer’s tag with attached size “42” label. The jersey actually measures to a size 48. Below is “Drysdale 53” embroidered in blue chain stitch indicating player name and number, respectively. Inside the left tail is a wash instructions label with attached “SET 1 1958” flag tag. Across the front is “Dodgers” done in blue script-style felt letters. Number “56” appears on front in red felt and on back in blue felt. There is a number change on the jersey. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows outstanding use. It is likely that the jersey went to the minors and was number changed then. Other that what is mentioned, there appear to be no further alterations of any kind.
