On the left front tail is the “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions and jersey size “42”. Below is “1969” embroidered in blue chain stitch. Inside the rear collar is a white strip tag with player name “Bates” embroidered in blue chain stitch. There is some writing in the collar indicating the shirt was sent down to the minors. At the left chest is the team logo patch which is an original patch that has been restored. Below is “pilots” that has been restored. Player number “46” appears on both the front and back with the front number being restored. All numbers and letters are done in blue on yellow tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the “MLB 100th Anniversary” patch which has been added to the shirt. Bates has signed the front of the shirt in blue marker adding the inscription “#46 Played April 27, 1969” rating a 6 with bleeding. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows appropriate use. Other than what is mentioned, there appear to be no further alterations of any kind.
