In 1971, Earl “The Pearl” Monroe joined the NY Knicks and formed what was known as the "Rolls Royce Backcourt" with the equally flamboyant Walt Frazier. The duo meshed to become one of the most effective guard combinations of all time, leading the Knicks to the 1973 NBA championship. That pairing is one of few backcourts ever to feature two Hall of Famers and NBA 50th Anniversary Team members. He played 926 NBA career games, scored 17,454 total points (18.8 ppg) and dished out 3,594 assists. Monroe had his number 15 jersey retired by the Knicks on March 1, 1986. On the left front tail is the “Sand-Knit” manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions and jersey size “44”. Directly above is the “Gerry Cosby” distributor’s tag. Across the front is “NEW YORK”. Player number “15” appears on both the front and back. All these numbers and letters are done in orange on blue tackle twill. Player name “MONROE” appears on back in blue tackle twill block letters. The shirt is custom tapered. Monroe has signed the front numbers in black marker adding the inscription “My Gamer” in black marker rating a 6. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows outstanding use. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA. Other than what is mentioned, there appear to be no further alterations of any kind.
