This size 12, 10k gold ring weighs 19 grams and was created from a set of cufflinks given to Bob Hoobing, New England Sports Editor for the Associated Press and Sports Editor for the Boston Herald. In lieu of rings, during the successful championship period of 1958 through 1968, presentational gifts such as watches, charms and cufflinks were given to players’ families and others close to the Celtics. The ring reads “BOSTON CELTICS 1965 WORLD CHAMPIONS” in relief surrounding a green enameled shamrock. The original cufflink measured just over ¾” in diameter, the verso is stamped “KOCH 10K”. The ring is in MINT condition and is accompanied by an additional LOA.
