Dale Ellis was selected 9th overall in the 1983 NBA Draft by the Dallas Mavericks, but did not show his true potential until he was traded to the Seattle Supersonics on July 23, 1986 for Al Wood. He went from averaging 7.1 points per game to 24.9 with the Mavericks, winning NBA’s Most Improved Player in 1987 and never looked back. This game basketball was presented to Ellis for scoring his 1,000th three-pointer. It is an official “NBA” game ball, one panel painted white with “DALE ELLIS 1,000th CAREER THREE-POINTER MARCH 19, 1994 *SPURS 107-KINGS 100”.
