Larry Csonka was the #1 pick by the American Football League's Miami Dolphins in the 1968 Common Draft, the first running back drafted in the first round. Over the next four seasons, Csonka never missed a game, and he led the Dolphins in rushing the next five seasons. During the 1972 season, the Dolphins became the only team since the AFL-NFL Merger to go undefeated, and Csonka was an instrumental part of the success, rushing for a career best 1,117 yards. He was inducted into the Pro Football HOF in 1987. The front tail of this jersey have been cut including the crotch piece being removed. On the left front tail of this durene shirt is the silk-screened “Wilson” tag with wash instructions and jersey size “48”. Player number “39” appears on the front, back and on both sleeves in white on orange tackle twill. Player name “CSONKA” appears on back in white tackle twill block letters on a teal nameplate. The sleeves feature an elastic hem. There are numerous large team repairs throughout the jersey. Csonka has signed the back number “9” in black marker rating an 8. Other all-time Miami Dolphins greats have also signed the back number including Dan Marino, Don Shula, Nat Moore, Bob Baumhower, Joe Rose and Kim Bokamper. All remaining sigs are also done in black marker rating an overall 7. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as game-used and in our opinion, shows outstanding use. Other than what is mentioned, there appear to be no further alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA for the signatures.
