On September 11, 1985, Pete Rose broke Ty Cobb’s all-time hits record with his 4,192nd hit, a single to left-center field off San Diego Padres pitcher Eric Show. Rose’s performance earned him National League Player of the Week honors and he was presented with this watch. The face of the watch reads “PLAYER OF THE WEEK” and features the National League logo in the center and reads “LAFAYETTE WATCH CO. SWISS MADE” along the bottom. The back of the watch is engraved “PETE ROSE HIT KING 9-11-85” and stamped with the Lafayette Watch Co. logo along with the serial number “38007”. The leather-banded is in NRMT condition and in full-working order.
