Beautifully penned on October 22nd, 1945, Grabiner congratulates Tigers owner Walter Briggs on Detroit’s victory over the Chicago Cubs in the 1945 World Series. Harry Grabiner, Charles Comiskey’s “right hand man” during Comiskey’s reign of White Sox ownership is the man suspected of orchestrating the mysterious disappearance of player-signed confessions of involvement in the 1919 Black Sox scandal, negating the prosecution’s key evidence against eight conspirators. Though acquitted of wrongdoing, the accused Black Sox conspirators were banned from professional baseball for life. Grabinger’s signature and overall handwriting are done in blue fountain pen rating a 9. Letter is EX-NM and appears to have been folded. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
