In 1968, there was no number “50” or player “Torres” on the Phillies roster. This shirt was most likely worn in spring training and/or in the minors. On the left front tail is the “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with wash instructions and jersey size “40”. Below is a label with “Wilson 1968 SET 2”. Across the front is “Phillies” done in burgundy on white chain stitch. Number “50” appears on back in the same chain stitch embroidery, burgundy on white. Inside the rear collar is a strip tag with “Torres 68” in black chain stitch. There is a patch removed from the left sleeve. The jersey is properly tagged, was presented to us as spring training game-used and in our opinion, shows excellent use. Other than what is mentioned, there appear to be no further alterations of any kind.
