Dick Butkus is widely regarded as the greatest linebacker of his generation and one of the best football players of all time. Butkus was picked third by his hometown team the Chicago Bears in the 1965 NFL Draft. He became a member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1979 and in 1985 the Downtown Athletic Club of Orlando Florida created an award in his name. The Dick Butkus Award is given to the nations best Collegiate Linebacker the position Butkus dominated at the University of Illinois. Dick Butkus has hand signed this University of Illinois mini helmet. A Steiner Sports Certificate of Authenticity is included.
