The 1966 NBA All-Star Game took place on January 11, 1966 in Cincinnati. In his 22 minutes played, Sam Jones scored 12 points, had 5 assists and 2 rebounds. Jones was named to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1984. In 1970 he was named to the NBA 25th Anniversary Team, and in 1996, he was named as one of the 50 Greatest Players in NBA History. Any jersey from this All-Star Game is exceedingly rare let alone from an NBA Top 50 Player. This is the first jersey from the 1966 All-Star Game that we have ever seen. On the left front tail of this white knit shirt is the “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with attached size “44” flag tag. Across the front is “EAST”. Player number “44” appears on both the front and back. All numbers and letters are done in blue tackle twill satin. Jones has autographed the front in blue marker adding the inscription “HOF 83” rating a 7-8 with light bleeding. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. It is accompanied by a hand signed LOA from Sam Jones as well as a LOA from JSA for the signature.
