Vic Janowicz played college football at Ohio State University. A tailback in the single wing, he won the Heisman Trophy in 1950 as a junior. Woody Hayes, who coached Janowicz's senior year, said of him, "He was not only a great runner, but also passed, was a place-kicker and punter, played safety on defense and was an outstanding blocker. Janowicz epitomized the ‘triple-threat’ football player.” Inside the rear left tail of this grey sweater is the “”MacGregor Goldsmith” manufacturer’s tag with size “44”. Across the front is “OHIO STATE” done in large red chenille lettering. The front zipper is intact and fully functional. It features ribbed cuffs. EX-NM overall condition, no holes or tears with some light staining on back. It shows wear and appears to have no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by photo copies of Janowicz’ Ohio Historical Society, various golf courses and other membership cards that were given to our consignor when they were purchased directly from the Janowicz family along with his game jersey. Also included is an 8” x 10” Janowicz autographed rendering that was given by the family to our consignor with the sweater.
