The Heisman Trophy Award is given annually to the player deemed the most outstanding player in collegiate football. It was created in 1935 as the Downtown Athletic Club trophy and renamed in 1936 following the death of the Club's athletic director, John Heisman (former Brown University and University of Pennsylvania college football player). The award is presented by the Heisman Trophy Trust in early December before the postseason bowl games. This football represents a lifetime of obtaining autographs, as our consignor did receive the majority of these in person. It is quite possibly the most complete Heisman Trophy Award Winners autographed piece extant. “Wilson” manufactured football with three white panels containing 57 signatures of Heisman Trophy Award Winners, all done in black ink rating an overall 8-9.
