This well-toned ONL Heydler Spalding baseball has been signed by four members of the New York Giants; Rogers Hornsby (6), John J. McGraw (partially traced), Frank Frisch (light) and Fred Fitzsimmons (5). The McGraw and Frisch signatures are done in black ink, the Horsby and Fitzsimmons in blue. The McGraw signature features an added “1927” inscription, the year in which health problems caused the coach to take a leave of absence from the team. Rogers Hornsby became player-manager for 32 games during his only season with the Giants. There are a few small holes in the leather but none detract from any of the signatures, a true piece of New York Giants history.
