There was no number “39” on the Indians roster in 1950. Inside the rear collar of the home flannel jersey is the “MacGregor Goldsmith” manufacturer’s tag with jersey size “44”. Attached is the “Niehaus” distributor’s tag. Across the front is “Indians” done in red on navy blue felt script style lettering. On back is number “39” done in the same red on navy blue felt. The Chief Wahoo patch has been removed from the left sleeve. There are a few small holes above the number on back as well as some blue spotting on the collar. Inside the rear waistband of the home flannel pants is the “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag with attached “36” size tag. Inside the front zipper is a felt strip tag with “49” embroidered. The jersey shows a ton of game-use and other than the missing patch appears to have no further alterations of any kind.
