Drafted into the NBA sixth overall by the Boston Celtics in 1978, Bird started at small forward and power forward for thirteen seasons, spearheading one of the NBA's most formidable frontcourts that included center Robert Parish and forward Kevin McHale. Bird was voted to the NBA's 50th Anniversary All-Time Team in 1996 and inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1998. On the front tail is the "Champion" manufacturers size 46 tag with wash instructions. Adjacent to that is another Champion "YEAR 1991 ID# BODY LENGTH +3" tag. Across the front is "CELTICS." Below that and on the back is the player number "33." Across the back is the player name "BIRD." All lettering and numbering is done in white tackle twill. On the left breast is the official "NBA" embroidered logo. Autographed on the front number in green marker and rates a 9. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. The autograph is accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
