Derek Harper played in 1,199 regular season games in his NBA career, ranking him 24th on the all-time list. He retired having the eleventh most steals and the seventeenth most assists in NBA history, and is widely regarded with the dubious distinction as being one of the best players to never make it to the All-Star game. We were told this is the ball that Derek Harper used to score the 15,000th point of his career on March 26, 1997 against the Indiana Pacers at Market Square Arena. The ball has been signed by 15 members of the 1996-97 Mavericks including AC Green, Shawn Bradley (added inscription “You’re one of the great ones!”), Martin Müürsepp, Greg Drieling, Michael Finley (inscribed “Congrats Ol’ Man”), Robert Pack (inscribed “My Man Harp”) and Jamie Watson. All signatures are done in black marker rating an overall 7-8. Accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
