This Official Spalding NBA Game Ball was used on April 13th, 1989 in a game between the Boston Celtics and the Atlanta Hawks. During the game, three-time NBA champion and Hall of Famer Dennis Johnson scored his 15,000th career NBA point, a feat which is commemorated on the ball itself. The panel above the Spalding panel has been painted turquoise with white and yellow painted lettering that reads “TO – DENNIS JOHNSON SCORING HIS 15,000TH NBA CAREER POINT in the 3RD QUARTER at ATLANTA, GA”. It continues onto the next panel by recapping the score a “132-118 LOSS TO THE HAWKS ON APRIL 13, 1989”. The ball comes with a family LOA.
