This Celtics Finals jersey was worn during Game 4 of the 1969 NBA Finals, when Sam Jones hit the game winning shot to even the series. Jones spent all of his twelve seasons in the NBA with the Boston Celtics who drafted him in the first round in 1957. He was known as a clutch scorer, and scored over 15,000 points in his career. He participated in five All-Star Games, and is usually recognized as one of the best point guards of his generation. Jones was named to the All-NBA Second Team three straight years and he played on ten championship teams, a total exceeded only by teammate Bill Russell in NBA history. Elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1984. Top 50 All-Time player. On the left front tail is the "Wilson" manufacturer’s size 42 tag with wash instructions. Across the front is "CELTICS." Below that and on the back is the player number "24." All lettering and numbering is done in green tackle twill. The jersey shows excellent game-use with multiple team repairs and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
