Hall of Famer Jerry Sloan was “The Original Bull.” Selected first by Chicago in the 1966 expansion draft, Sloan helped the franchise to the playoffs in its first year of existence. His tenacity on defense made him a fan favorite in the Windy City, where he picked up four NBA All-Defensive First Team selections and two All-Star nods during his career. He would also help the Bulls to their only ever division title outside of the Michael Jordan era. His career rebounding average of 7.4 rebounds per game is unusually high for a guard, and is further testament to his determination on the court. So too is his 2.15 steals per game average evidence of his quickness on the hardwood. Since finishing his playing days, Sloan has become one of professional basketball’s most successful coaches, with a career regular-season win–loss record of 1137–751 at the end of the 2009 season, placing him fourth on the list of all-time most-winning NBA coaches. When he collected his 1,000th victory in 2006, he became just the fifth coach in NBA history to reach that mark. On the front left tail of this late 1960s classic Jerry Sloan Bulls jersey is the outline of the removed “Wilson” manufacturer’s tag. Across the front is "BULLS." Below and on back is the player number "4." Across the back is the player name “SLOAN.” All lettering and numbering is done in red on black tackle twill. The jersey shows excellent game-use and besides the missing manufacturer’s tag appears to have no other alterations of any kind.
