Kobe Bryant broke into the league in 1996 as the 13th overall pick of the NBA Draft. After just four years in the league, the 21 year old Bryant would team up with powerhouse center Shaquille O’Neal to lead the Lakers franchise back to the forefront of the league. Between 2000 and 2002, the future 12-time All-Star Bryant helped the Lakers to a trio of NBA Championships on his way to superstardom. In 2006 and 2007 Kobe was named the NBA scoring champ in back to back seasons, and he would follow up those impressive performances with a 2008 NBA MVP Award. With fourteen years already logged in the league, Bryant at just 31 is sure to add to his already impressive professional accomplishments, which also include nine All-NBA Team selections and eight All-Defensive First Team picks. In 2011, the future Hall of Famer will be going for his second three peat and sixth championship, looking to match the championship marks of the great Michael Jordan. He wore this road Lakers jersey during the 2001-2002 NBA Finals, the year in which he would complete the three peat. On the front left tail of the jersey is the “Nike” manufacturer’s size 52 tag. Attached is an additional manufacturer’s “LENGTH +4 Made in USA” tag. In the inside left seam are two additional tags which read “2001-02” and “Made in USA.” Across the front is “LAKERS” in yellow on white tackle twill. Below that and on the back is the player number “8” in white on yellow tackle twill. Across the back is the player name “BRYANT” in yellow on white tackle twill. On the left breast is the official “2002 NBA Finals” patch. On the right breast is the post 9/11 "USA Unity Flag” patch. On the back inside waistband of the shorts is the “Nike” manufacturer’s size 44 tag. Written on this tag in black marker is the player number “8.” Attached are two additional tags which read “Made in USA” and “DRI-FIT.” On the upper left thigh is the official “NBA” embroidered logo. The uniform shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
