Thomas "Satch" Sanders spent all of his 13 years in the NBA with the Boston Celtics, being part of eight championship teams in 1961-66, 1968 and 1969. In NBA history, only teammates Bill Russell and Sam Jones have won more championship rings during their playing careers. He ended his career in 1973. He coached the team for a brief period in 1978. His number was retired by the team in January of 1973. On the left front tail is the "Sand-Knit" manufacturers size 44 tag. Above that is an additional manufacturer’s exclusive tag that reads "Designed & Tailored Exclusively for the Boston Celtics." Across the front is "CELTICS." Below that and on the back is the player number "16." Across the back is the player name "SANDERS." All lettering and numbering is done in white tackle twill. Appears to have a slight discoloration on the tackle twill. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. This is only the second known Sanders.
