There are two words that NHL opposing goalies and defensemen do not want to hear when they hit the ice to play the NY Rangers…Sean Avery. You either love him or hate him, there is no in between. This jersey was worn by Avery on April 11, 2008 when the NY Rangers visited the NJ Devils during Round One, Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs. Inside the rear collar is the “CCM Made in Canada” manufacturer’s tag with jersey size “58.” Written on this tag is “16 AVERY” in black marker. Diagonally on the front is "RANGERS." On back and on both sleeves is the player number "16.” Across the back is the player name "AVERY" on a white name plate. All numbers and letters are done in blue on red tackle twill. Above the name on back is the “Reebok” embroidered logo. At the front V-neck is the official “NHL” embroidered logo patch between the tie-down. Inside the rear tail is the original fight strap. Below, also inside the rear tail is the “NHL Game-Worn Jersey 2007-2008 Season” tag numbered “E03273.” The front and rear tails have been taken in and re-hemmed. The jersey shows excellent game-use with board and stick burns throughout and with the exception of the customizations mentioned appears to have no further alterations of any kind. It is accompanied by a LOA from the New York Rangers and as well as a LOA from Milt Byron. It is further accompanied by a photo match of Avery wearing this very jersey on the ice on April 11, 2008 during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
