On Saturday, May 12, 2001, our consignor was lucky enough to retrieve this home run baseball hit by Derek Jeter. Derek hit a two run homer in the bottom of the eighth inning at the old Yankee Stadium with two outs off Josh Towers to cement an 8-5 victory over the Baltimore Orioles. Our consignor, a former Stadium employee, has written “Derek Jeter Home Run 5/12/01” on the west panel in blue ink to mark the occasion. This OML baseball shows terrific game-use with heavy dirt spotting throughout as well as what appears to be a bat wood grain mark on the south panel. It is accompanied by a detailed LOA from our consignor explaining how he obtained it.
