Adrian Dantley will be a part of the 2008 class to be enshrined at the Basketball Hall of Fame. His pro career began in 1977 in Buffalo where he was named the NBA Rookie of the Year. Dantley quickly established his reputation as a prolific scorer. He would go on to win the league scoring title in 1981 and 1984, averaging 30ppg between those seasons. Dantley finished his career with an average of 24.3 points per game. He scored his points with a mix of mid-range jump shots, high-percentage opportunities close to the basket, and frequent trips to the free throw line. For his career, he shot .540 from the floor and .818 from the charity stripe. He led the league in free throws six times and ranks sixth all-time in that category. He shares the record for most free throws made in a regular-season NBA game with 28.
