Ausbie had been called “Goose” since childhood but his nickname was changed to “Geese” when he joined the Harlem Globetrotters. Because of his basketball skills and natural flair for visual humor, Ausbie was known as the “Clown Prince of Basketball.” He shared center stage on the court with two other popular Globetrotter players, Meadowlark Lemon and Curly Neal. In 1978, Lemon left the Globetrotters, and Ausbie became the lead entertainer of the team. On the inside back collar is a "35" embroidered strip tag. On the left breast is the embroidered "Harlem Globetrotters" patch in yellow, red, and white. The jacket has a metal zipper down the entire front. On the inside back waistband of the pants is the "Wilson" manufacturers size 34 tag. Attached below is an additional flag tag which reads “35” INS.” Player number “35” is written on the tag in black marker. The jacket and pants show wear and appear to have no alterations of any kind.
