The ABA existed from 1967 through 1976 before merging with the NBA. It was considered the “outlaw” league wit psychedelic red, white and blue basketballs and lively play that adopted the three-point shot. From February 17-20, 2005, the ABA held its “Ol’ School Reunion” in Denver. Twenty-five of its players signed 300 basketballs. This lot of twelve balls, numbered 151-162, was a part of those original 300 basketballs. They are signed by 25 ABA Basketballers including Julius Erving, George “Iceman” Gervin, Moses Malone, Warren Jabali, Artis Gilmore, Marvin “Bad News” Barnes, Mack Calvin, Sam Lacey, Joe Hamilton, Ollie Taylor, Fatty Taylor, James Silas, Ronald Behagen, “Goo” Kennedy, Willie Davis, Leonard Gray, Mike Green, Jimbo Eakins, Cincy Powell, Ralph Simpson, Willie Rogers, Al Smith, Rick Darnell, Mike Davis and Collis Jones. All signatures are done in black marker and rate an overall 7-8. The balls are accompanied by a LOA from JSA as well as an additional LOA.
