Led by Shaquille O’Neal and Kobe Bryant, the 2001-2002 Los Angeles Lakers became the third franchise to win three straight NBA championships. The Lakers completely dominated their opponents in the Finals, the NJ Nets, sweeping them in four straight games, and giving the Lakers their fourteenth championship in team history. During the team’s playoff run in 2002, Samaki Walker scored 62 points over 19 games and played an important role coming off the bench. This is the ring presented to Walker after that magical season. This size 12 ring cast in 14K gold. It was sized for Walker’s father. We were told that after winning, Samaki gave it to him. On the top and sides of the perimeter is “LAKERS WORLD CHAMPIONS” in relief. On the bottom as well as the upper left and right corners of the top perimeter are several small diamond chips. The face is covered with several small diamond chips as well as yellow stones forming a platform atop which is set three small triangles and one large triangle. The three smaller triangles each contain a large diamond. These surround the larger triangle which contains a purple stone and has “BACK” on each side of its perimeter. On the right shank, all in relief is “LOS ANGELES LAKERS SLAM DUNK 2002” along with a small gold microphone with “CHICK” on it. On the left shank is player name “WALKER” along with “15 4 58 24” and the official NBA logo. Inside the ring is “14K.” This spectacular piece of NBA history is in overall EX-MT condition and shows only light scuffing on the bottom from being worn.
