2001 was the second championship during the Lakers recent three-peat. The Lakers would win the Finals four games to one over the Philadelphia 76ers. L.A. punished the Sixers with their excellent 3-point shooting which was the key to this series. In Game 3 Robert Horry hit a clutch 3-pointer in the last minute, and in the next two games the Lakers used hot 3-point shooting to build big leads and hold off late Sixer comebacks in Games 4 and 5, pulling away for double digit wins to capture the title. Shaquille O’Neal was named the MVP of the series. This ring was given to team assistant trainer. This size 12.5 ring cast in 14K yellow gold. On the top and sides of the perimeter is “LAKERS WORLD CHAMPIONS” in relief with two small diamonds. The face is covered with several small diamond chips as well as yellow stones forming a platform atop which is set two NBA Championship trophies done in diamonds. On the right shank, all in relief is “LOS ANGELES LAKERS” along with “BACK 2 BACK 2001.” On the left shank is “BD” along with “15 1 56 26” and the official NBA logo. Inside the ring is “14K.” This spectacular piece of NBA history is in overall MT-NM condition and shows only light scuffing on the bottom from being worn.
