Bill Russell was the cornerstone of the Boston Celtics' dynasty of the 1960s, an uncanny shot blocker who revolutionized NBA defensive concepts. A five-time NBA Most Valuable Player and a 12-time All-Star, the angular center amassed 21,620 career rebounds, an average of 22.5 per game, and led the league in rebounding four times. He had 51 boards in one game, 49 in two others, and a dozen consecutive seasons of 1,000 or more rebounds. His many individual accolades were well deserved, but they were only products of Russell's philosophy of team play. Elected to the Basketball Hall of Fame in 1975. Top 50 All-Time player. On the left front tail is the "WILSON" manufacturer's tag with the jersey size "46" on it. Stamped below is the team inventory number “6546.” Across the front is "CELTICS." Below that and on the back is the player number "6." All lettering and numbering is done in green tackle twill. The jersey has been autographed on front in blue marker and rates a 9. The jersey shows game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. This is one of two known signed Bill Russell Celtics game-used jerseys. The autograph is accompanied by a LOA from JSA.
