Subsequent to the 1980 Olympics, a campaign was mounted to raise money for America's 1984 Olympic teams. In conjunction with Anheuser-Busch, the "Olympic Art Work Project" featured a few select athletes who were chosen to commit to canvas something singular to them using their instruments of greatness. Mike Eruzione, captain of the legendary hockey team, used his hockey stick and skates. Bill Russell dribbled a basketball in paint and on to the canvas, in addition to walking in paint and onto the canvas in his basketball sneakers. The result was an entirely unique piece of art. From that piece of art, a series of posters was created for people to purchase, with all money going towards the financing of the U.S. Olympians of 1984. This is the original one-of-a-kind artwork personally created by HOFer Bill Russell for that event! Measuring in at approximately 52" x 128", the art is literally larger than the man. On the lower right corner of the painting is "BFR 80", indicating Russell's initials and the year this painting was created, both done in Russell's own hand. Truly a special item on many levels, this huge piece would make a great addition to any collection. Due to the size and weight, this painting will be expensive to ship. Accompanied by a LOA from James Spence Authentication.
