One of the ABA's charter franchises in 1967, the Dallas Chaparrals later became the San Antonio Spurs and joined the NBA. They always hovered near the middle of the ABA pack and, around the league, the Chaps were known for the vast wealth of their ownership group. During the 1970-1971 season, the team became the Texas Chaparrals but this proved a failure and the team returned full-time to Dallas in time for the 1971-1972 season. In the rear collar of this jacket is the "Sand-Knit" manufacturers size 44 tag. Inside the front tail near the snap is player number "34" written in black marker. On the back of the jacket is the "Chaparral" logo embroidered in red, white, and blue. The jacket shows wear and appears to have no alterations of any kind.
