At age 24, DeBusschere served as player/coach of the Pistons, making him the youngest NBA coach in history. When his contract expired in 1967, DeBusschere was traded to the Knicks. He was the missing link New York needed, and became a key ingredient in 1970 and 1973 Knicks championships. Converse brand "Chuck Taylor All-Stars" manufactured sneakers. "Converse" logo is on the back of each sneaker. "Converse Chuck Taylors All-Star" logo is on the inner ankle of each sneaker. On the outer ankle of the left shoe in black marker is "Dave "D" Size 14 1/2." The shoes show game-use and appear to have no alterations of any kind. An additional LOA will be provided from famous restaurateur Thomas Rogers, Jr. stating "Willis Reed autographed a pair of sneakers he wore in the 1970 NBA Championship game and gave them to me to display in the Briefkase Pub. He also gave me a pair of Dave DeBusschere's sneakers worn in that championship series, size 14-1/2, the same as Willis'."
