Bill Russell is widely considered as the best defensive players in NBA history. He was the cornerstone of the Boston Celtics' dynasty of the 1960s, an uncanny shotblocker who revolutionized NBA defensive concepts. His shot-blocking and man-to-man coverage were major reasons for the Celtics' success, and he inspired other players to elevate their own defensive play. Russell was equally notable for his rebounding abilities. He led the NBA in rebounds four times and tallied 21,620 total rebounds in his career. He is one of just two NBA players (the other being prominent rival Wilt Chamberlain) to have grabbed over fifty rebounds in a single game. Though never the focal point of the Celtics' offense, Russell also scored 14,522 career points and provided effective passing. On the inside front tail of the jersey is the "Wilson" manufacturers tag with jersey size "44" on it. On the front and back of the jersey is the player number "6" in white tackle twill. Above and to the side of the numbers on both back and front are six stars in red tackle twill. The jersey shows nice game-use and appears to have no alterations of any kind. A detailed LOA will be provided stating that this jersey was obtained directly from Bill Russell's wife Rose.
