Reminiscent of ancient torches, made of a cluster of reeds bound by twine, this 1996 Centennial Olympics 32" relay torch consists of 22 aluminum reeds (one for each of the Olympic Games) with a center handle of Georgia hardwood. The names of each host city are etched in a gold band near the torch base, and another band above the wood shows the Atlanta Games logo and "Quilt of Leaves." Small tank in the base of torch for fuel, the torch can be disassembled. In overall NRMT condition with light wear. As Muhammad Ali had the honor of lighting the cauldron at the opening ceremonies, also included in this lot is a full ticket for these opening ceremonies in Atlanta on July 19, 1996, signed in black ink across the face by Muhammad Ali. Ticket is NRMT-MINT with signature that grades an 8 to 9. Accompanied by a LOA from James Spence Authentication.
