Nicknamed "Chairman of the Board", Edward "Whitey" Ford was THE big game pitcher on the great Yankees teams of the 1950s and early '60s. With a lifetime record of 236-106 he had the best winning percentage (.690) of any 20th century pitcher. Ford was an All-Star eight times and won the Cy Young in 1961, the same year he was awarded the World Series MVP. Many of his World Series records still stand including 10 wins and 94 strikeouts. Manuf: Rawlings/Adirondack, Model: 24C, Length: 35 in, Weight: 33.4 oz, Wood: Ash, Condition: Un-cracked with a mounting hole that has been repaired on the front and back barrel.. Nice hit marks on the right barrel's hitting surface. There are red and black rack marks on the handle as well as around the entire barrel. There is a light coat of pine tar on the handle. Player name "FORD" is written on the knob end in red marker. There is an autograph on the front barrel with inscription "This is my game used bat!" done in blue marker rating an 8-9. This bat was originally obtained from Ford's home. Overall: EXCELLENT. Accompanied by a LOA from James Spence Authentication as well as a LOA from PSA/DNA.
