Harmon Killebrew hit 573 home runs throughout his 22 year major league career on his way to the baseball Hall of Fame. He was an All-Star eleven times and won the American League MVP award in 1969. Nicknamed "Killer", Killebrew tied or led the league in home runs six times, belted 40 or more eight times and knocked in 100 or more runs nine times. On the left front tail is the "Wilson" manufacturers tag with wash instructions and jersey size "44". Beneath is a second "Wilson" tag with "1968 SET2" indicating year and set, respectively. Inside the rear collar is a white embroidered tag with player name "Killebrew". Across the front of the jersey is the team name "Twins" done in blue on red tackle twill. On the back of the jersey is the player number "3" also done in blue on red tackle twill. On the left sleeve is the "Minnetsota Twins" official team embroidered patch. There is an autograph on the right front tail done in black marker rating a strong 9.5. There are stitch marks under the name tag inside the rear collar. The collar appears to have been opened and re-closed. Everything else about the shirt appears to be correct and in the opinion of our authenticators it is possible that this was an extra shirt which needed to be put into emergency service. It is possible that this alteration was done by the team. The jersey shows even wear throughout and with the exception of the above description shows no alterations of any kind. Accompanied by a LOA from James Spence Authentication.
